Introduction

Taiwan Tech Library was established in August of 1974 and started to provide services in March of 1975. The role of the Library is to fulfill the teaching, learning and research need of students and faculty at the University.

The Library, with 5,627 square meters of floor space and about 639 seats in its reading facilities, encompasses three sections: Acquisition & Cataloguing, Periodicals & Circulation and System Information.

The Library Committee under the supervision of the President is organized to promote library services.

The Library collection include 386,521 volumes of books, 813,639 titles of e-books, 2,787 titles of periodicals, 66,878 titles of e-journals, and 252 titles of online databases.

The Sierra, an integrated library automation system, was implemented in August, 2018. Taiwan Tech Library offers automated circulation, reference services, reserved book services, interlibrary loan services, audio-visual services, library orientation services, etc.

Changes in the past five years

From 2016 to 2021, Taiwan Tech Library has carried out a number of space renovation projects to attract more users to the Library, including Circulation counter, Light meal Area, Information Commons (Computer Room), Discussion Rooms/Audio Visual Area, Bestsellers/Library’s Top Picks/Current Periodicals/Study Room, and Learning Commons in the back building.
